Say Cheese!

This weekend was so lovely. We spent Saturday in the centre of town by the waterfront where they had a big festival on. We watched a Newfoundland rescue demonstration which justified my love for them even more as did this little fluffball!

After mooching around for a while The Boyfriend suggested we head to a camera shop to see what I could have for my birthday whilst keeping in the budget we set each other. So in we mooched, we asked a few questions and shown a few cameras. I tried some out. I liked one a lot. After that it became a blur and next thing I know Im walking out with a new (to me) camera!
There were strict conditions in place however. I was not allowed the camera until my birthday, one whole month away! MY condition was that I was allowed to play with it for 24 hours before it was put in the loft safely out of my reach!
I took it everywhere for the next 24 hours and its safe to say Im so happy with it!
Here are some of the pictures I took:

Hope you've been enjoying the sun!!

Little Flower

This weekend I went to my Mums house so she could provide me with nourishment in the form of homemade pizza *YUM*.
While we were waiting for them to be cooked I thought I would have a go at making a flower out of fabric. After looking at loads of blogs and tutorials online I felt ready to give it a go.
It wasnt too hard and luckily didnt need a lot of patience just some twisting and hot glueing. While I was trying this Mum left the room and then put three boxes of beads on the table as some kind of obvious hint that I should incorporate at least one bead on the flower. I glued one to the middle and the flower was done.
We looked at it.
We marveled at its cuteness.
I realised it needed to be in my hair.
And it was done.

Cute right?

I did a load more too..

Good news for you is that you can now buy them from my Etsy shop HERE (White to go on shortly)

I will making more of these for sure, they are so pretty when they are finished and look fab in my hair!

What have you made this week?

Currently Listening...

The Boyfriend finally persuaded me to watch Walk The Line last weekend. The only reason I needed persuading is because he hadnt really sold it to me as a good film that I would enjoy.
I loved it.
Its such a great film, Johnny Cashs' story is amazing and Reese Witherspoon as June Carter was fab!

I have to admit I hadnt listened to any Johnny Cash before (except Ring of Fire but then, who hasn't heard that?!) and I hadn't even heard of June Carter but now I'm kind of hooked!

Needless to say The Boyfriend was shocked when he came home to me blasting out Get Rhythm and dancing around!

So here I am, spreading the love. Enjoy.

Johnny Cash - Get Rhythm

Reese Witherspoon & Joaquin Phoenix - Times A Wastin

Johnny Cash & June Carter - Jackson

Have a fantastic weekend!

French Toast

Hey!

The Boyfriend was away this week cycling to and then around France (sooo not my thing!). When he came back and told me about all the pastries and French things he had eaten  I thought maybe I should ease him back into English food and make him some French toast. The recipes online looked super easy and then I hit the jackpot.
Nutella Filled French Toast.
Oh yes.
It looked easy and delicious so decided to give the above recipe a go:

Ingredients for the French Toast mixture: 1 egg, 1 cup of milk, 1 teaspoon of vanilla and 1 teaspoon of butter.
The main ingredient!
Smother the bread in nutella and sandwich together.
Mix the egg, vanilla, and milk.
Melt the butter in a frying pan.
Dip both sides of the sandwich in the eggy, milky mixure and put in the pan.
Flip after 1-2 minutes.
After another 1-2 minutes take the toast out of the pan, cut in half, sprinkle with icing sugar and enjoy!!
It was very well received with The Boyfriend asking for a second serving and declaring this my breakfast speciality!
I think next time I would serve with either bananas or strawberries to give it a little something else.

Do you have a breakfast speciality?

Hope you're having a fab weekend!

In the Bedroom

Hi,

The Boyfriend and I have officially been in our (rented) house a year on the 9th and this week I've been really struck with how much progress we've made with making it look like OUR house rather than just the house we happen to live in!
We were very lucky that at the time we were moving in several people we knew were moving house or buying new things which meant we got a lot of stuff we needed for free, in fact, most of our living room items were kindly donated.
While we are always making little tweaks here and there, the only room that has never felt finished is our room. We have the basics of a bed, side tables etc but theres nothing on the walls except a feature wall of teal that we did when I was getting stressed about having nothing to look at!
We need something pretty that we both agree on which is a task in itself. After looking in Ikea and feeling zero inspiration I took to Etsy and here is what caught my eye:

Dont Forget To Be Awesome Every Day Print
This would be super motivational to see first thing on a Monday morning!

You + Me = Awesome

Kind of fun for in the bedroom.

You Are .. Print
I just love this one and have seen a few like it before so maybe this one is the winner?

Birds on a Wire
Finally, a picture I like that isnt just words! Its a simple picture but I like the colours and of course the little love birds!

Lets Have Adventures Together
Simple, cute and fun.

I've also considered printing some of the pictures we've taken over the time we've been together and have a mini collage of them on our wall but we are doing something very similar on the landing wall so we will see!

What sort of thing do you have in your room or have you left the walls bare to make it a clean space to sleep?

Baby Blanket Boom

Hey!

So I guess I should start off by explaining the title. Its not about me but I have two friends that are expecting babies before the year is out, one in November and one a few days before Christmas so instead of buying them something from a shop I decided to make them a baby blanket each! I know one of them is having a girl but the other couple have decided to not know the gender until the birth (not that I could do that, Im soooo impatient with things like that!) but they have said they are going pretty gender neutral for colours and things which is fun.

Anyway, as my friend is having the girl slightly before my other friend I decided to start her blanket first and while I still had the idea in my head!

I started late Sunday and heres how I've got on so far:

As you can see its nearly the size of a cushion so I feel like I've made good progress considering I have 4 months to complete this!

For the other baby I think I'll choose really bright colours as thats the sort of thin the parents like and it helps to keep it neutral.
Here are some of the ideas I've found off the old interwebs:

I'll get started on the second one as soon as the first one is finished, which at this rate could be by the end of the week!

Hope your having a fab week!

Picture Perfect

Hi!

I think today feels like a lazy Sunday, you know what I mean, one of those days where you look outside, see that its raining and make that effort to stay in your PJs for as long as possible, cuddle up with the fluffys and watch some rainy day films.

Its not like I've done nothing this week though so heres a little run down in pictures:

We took off for a little mid week getaway and I fed this not-so-little guy as well as a gang of ducks that got a little too confident for my liking!

I finally got our holiday pictures taken with an underwater camera developed and there were some beauties including this one of some clownfish. It was so fun to take pictures without knowing what they were going to look like before they were developed!

After months of fighting with it, I finally got my sewing machine to co-operate and together we made this suepr cute wash bag!

An impromptu trip to a charity shop had me walking away with these two cute soup bowls at a steal of a price!

Hope you had as good a week as I've had and a fab lazy Sunday!
